Kevin Herod | Head Coach

Kevin Herod begins his fifth season at the helm as Head Coach of the Talladega College women's basketball team.

In three seasons, Coach Herod has won two GCAC regular season championships, one GCAC tournament championship, two trips to the NAIA Divison I National Championship, and two GCAC Coach of the Year Awards. In the 2018 - 2019 season the team earned high rankings in the NAIA coaches polls ranked at No. 11. His squad also made history by being the first HBCU to ever make to the second round of the NAIA National Tournament! Coach Herod also received GCAC Coach of the Year. Although the Lady Tornadoes ended the season 28-6, they plan to return next season stronger than ever!

He has developed 6 NAIA All-Americans and 12 All-GCAC players during his coaching tenure at Talladega.

At the beginning of the 2016/17 season, Coach Herod was named Talladega College's interim Athletic Director, taking on the additional responsibility for the administration of all eight of Talladega College's athletic teams. 

He also served as the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference's women's basketball rater, during the 2017-2018 season, where he helped facilitate NAIA Division I women's basketball national team rankings. 

Coach Herod is Talladega College graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Management; a Master's Degree from Salem University in Global Business Management.
